Women’s Hockey hosts St. Scholastica this weekend

MEQUON, Wis. - After a frustrating loss against St. Norbert College on Wednesday night, the Concordia University Wisconsin women's hockey team will hope to bounce back this weekend, when they'll host a two-game weekend series against St. Scholastica College.

The Falcons and Saints will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday night inside the Ozaukee Ice Center, before playing again on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Live video and live stats will be provided for both games.

CUW (7-12-2, 5-10-1 NCHA) is currently on the outside looking in with regards to a spot in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs, as they trail UW-Eau Claire by two points for the eighth and final seed in the O'Brien Cup Playoffs.

Concordia suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against St. Norbert on Wednesday night, despite outshooting the Green Knights 36-27 while creating numerous quality chances in front of goal.

Freshman goalie Jennifer DeGeorge (Waukesha, Wis.) continued her strong play between the pipes, making 25 saves in the loss.

St. Scholastica (11-6-4, 9-5-2 NCHA) is currently holding on to the fourth seed in the conference tournament, despite only going 0-1-1 against Lake Forest College last weekend.

The Saints are led offensively by freshman forward Nina Waidacher, who has scored 14 goals to go with 13 assists.
