Falcon women defeat WLC 66-60

Stacey-Brunner-Jones' Falcons recorded their second consecutive HUGE win with a scintillating 66-60 conquest of previously undefeated Wisconsin Lutheran 66-60 last evening in the Buuck Fieldhouse.

The ever-improving Falcons, now 8-2 in NAC play, battled on even terms with the taller Warriors (now 5-1 in the NAC) during a defensively-dominated first half.

Concordia led early by a 10-2 count but needed the final 4 points of the initial twenty minute segment to forge a 26-26 tie at intermission.

After the break, freshman Katie Luethe took over with most of her monster 20 point and 9 rebound performance as Concordia built a 6 point lead.

WLC came back to cut their deficit to 60-58 with less than a minute remaining in the contest before Tiffany Hendrickson made the game's biggest shot- a 3 pointer that gave Concordia a 5 point cushion heading in the final minute.

Shavon Dillon led WLC, now 10-2 overall, with 19 points and Rachel Johnson added 13.

Four-time champion Concordia, winner of six straight conference games, moved back into the league title picture with victories over Dominican and WLC in the past four days. Those teams have a combined 22-5 record.

"We are playing better basketball. Our young kids are growing up in a hurry," said Coach Brunner.
