Falcons drop CU-Chicago on the road 62-53
River Forest, IL
CUW led from start to finish in the process of ending 2010 NAC
action on a high note, recording their 5th consecutive conference
win with a 62-53 road decision over Concordia- Chicago.
The host Cougars had all kinds of problems with the Falcon man-man
defense in the first half, falling behind 30-19 at the break.
Stacey Brunner-Jones' defenders held All American Marche Smith to 6
first half markers. Smith wound up with 15 points but was 0-4 from
beyond the arc.
Meanwhile Tiffany Hendrickson was scoring 12 of her eventual
game-high 18 in the first 20 minutes to give CUW a comfortable
cushion. CUW's biggest lead was 53-36 before the Illinois school
rallied to get within the final margin.
Katie Luethe and Becky Gifford eventually joined Hendrickson in
double figures for the Falcons (7-5 overall) who improved to 6-2 in
the league while dropping Concordia- Chicago to 4-6 overall.
