Edgewood women hold off Falcons 71-65
Madison
A strong second half Concordia comeback was not enough to overcome
an early 18 point deficit as the Falcons (2-3) fell to NAC host
Edgewood 71-65 in Madison this afternoon.
CUW shot a paltry 26% in the first half and trailed at one time by
38-20 before rallying to with 5 in the closing minute of the game.
Melanie Kulibert's 3 pointer trimmed the Eagle lead to 68-63 with
:28 remaining but Concordia got no closer.
Stacey Brunner-Jones' team wound up having balanced scoring with
Kendall Kerns (13); Katie Luethe (12); Kulibert (11); and Tiffany
Hendrickson (11) all reaching double figures, but Edgewood's Sadie
Ewing (18) and Shae Beckwith (16) led all scorers.
Although she was only 2 of 8 from the field, CUW's Becky Gifford
gobbled up 13 rebounds and had 4 steals along with a pair of
blocked shots.
