MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's volleyball team faced off with the Aurora Spartans in the second game of a back-to-back week.
In the first set, the Falcons came out flat-footed going down 12-6 early. The Falcons pushed back with a pair of runs late in the set to get within three at 23-20. The Spartans took the next two points to win the set 25-20.
In the second set, the teams were neck and neck through the set even into extras. The Falcons held a 23-22 lead heading into the final points of the set. Aurora edged out the Falcons with a 9-5 run to snag the 31-28 victory.
In the third set, the two teams battled even through and through again to the 26 point mark.
The Spartans took the last two points to sweep the Falcons with a third set score of 28-26.
Sophomore Spencer Herman (Appleton, Wis.) led the flock with 20 kills tying his career, single-game record.
He hit .378 with 6 errors and 37 total attempts.
Freshman Logan Kebisek (Brookfield, Wis.) led with 35 assists. He also added a pair of kills.
The Falcons turn their attention toward Edgewood next Wednesday for Faculty Appreciation Night.
