Spencer Herman Named AVCA National Player of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) named Spencer Herman the National Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

The sophomore from Appleton, Wisconsin, Spencer Herman is claiming the honor for the first time this season and for the second time in his career. He also claimed the honor on April 6, 2021.

In the season opener against Loras, he went off for 19 kills in three sets with a hitting percentage of .529.

He also added five digs, two service aces and one block to the stat sheet.

The Wisconsin native leads NCAA Division III with 6.33 kills per set and 7.2 points per set.

This is the third time that a Falcon has claimed the AVCA Player of the Week honor. Senior James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) also claimed the title on Feb. 12, 2019.

Herman and the Falcons return to action on Friday when they head west to take on California-Santa Cruz.
