Chuck Emme Selected as ACHA Division II National Player of the Year
TROY, Mich. – The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced Chuck Emme as the ACHA Men's Division II National Player of the Year on Tuesday. In February, he was named the ACHA Central Region Player of the Year and voted to the ACHA All-Athletic First Team.
A freshman forward from Glenville, Illinois, Chuck Emme is claiming the honor for the first time.
"This is a tremendous honor," said Chuck Emme. "I have to give a lot of credit to my teammates and coaches. I am incredibly grateful to represent Concordia and I could not have done it without everyone that surrounds me in my friends, family, and everyone else that has made an impact on my hockey career."
The freshman phenom soared in the 2023-24 season, leading the nation with 86 points and with 51 goals.
The Illinois native averaged an amazing 2.87 goals per game.
Emme scored multiple game-winning goals for the Falcons on the campaign, including the game-winning goal in overtime in the ACHA Central Regional Tournament Finals against Minnesota, to clinch the Falcons a spot in the ACHA Division II Tournament.
The CUW freshman helped the Falcons post a 25-12-2 record on the year and capture the program's first Hap Cup, second-straight NCHL regular season title, and the third over and second-straight trip to the ACHA Division II National Tournament.
This is the second year in a row that a Falcon was named National Player of the Year, with Ian Malcolmson claiming the honor for the 2022-23 season. Along with this accolade, the forward was also placed on the All-Athletic First Team for Men's Division 2.
Emme edged out the other Regional Players of the Year in Caleb Kaiser of Army (Northeast), Dylan Kent from Liberty University (Southeast), and Jorgen Johnson of Montana State University (West).
