Panthers Top Falcons in Shootout

OXFORD, Ohio - Concordia ACHA Hockey met the Davenport Panthers in its opening contest of the Miami Showcase in Oxford, Ohio. The contest pushed the Falcons to 17-6-2 in the 2023-24 campaign.

Junior forward Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) notched his 16th goal of the season to open the scoring for the Falcons. The goal also set a career-high, eclipsing his previous best of 15 scores in the 2022-23 season.

Freshman Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) padded his team's lead in scoring to collect Concordia's second tally of the game, as the forward picked up his 32nd goal of the season for the Falcons.

After 60 minutes of play proved insufficient to declare a winner, the ensuing overtime period was scoreless. Davenport clinched the victory in the shootout to collect its eighth win of the season.

The Falcons will get a chance to get back into the win column in Ohio against the No. 7-ranked Liberty Flames on January 20. Concordia and Liberty will enter the contest for their eighteenth and thirteenth wins of the season, respectively.
