ACHA Hockey Annihilates Aurora

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA hockey team brought out the brooms against Aurora on Saturday. The fourth-ranked Falcons in the Central Region improved to 12-4-1 on the year and 4-1-1 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey League

The Spartans had the first quality look of the game with a breakaway just over two minutes into the game, but Ian Robertson stopped the attack with a save.

A slapshot gave the Spartans the lead with a goal in the first five minutes of the contest.

It was all Concordia from there.

Freshman Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) tapped in the first Concordia goal on a wrap-around shot off a rebound on a shot from freshman Michael Sobczak (Wood Dale, Ill.) and a secondary assist from senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) who set up the two-on-one advantage.

Lucas Kreuser then scored from the far side of the net off a pass from Chuck Emme and Michael Sobczak.

Chuck Emme struck again with a shot that went bar down from senior EJ Halleck (Cape Coral, Fla.).

With 16.1 left in the first period, Chuck Emme recorded a hat trick that bounced off the water bottle off a pass from Lucas Kreuser.

The Falcons struck first in the second period on the power play from senior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.) off passes from Chuck Emme and junior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.).

Malcolmson struck again with a blast from the far circle off passes from junior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) and senior Rex Staudacher (Yorkville, Ill.).

The Falcons capitalized on the power play again in the third period with another goal from Chuck Emme and an assist to Lucas Kreuser.

Ian Robertson earned the victory for the Falcons.

The Falcons will return to action on Friday at home against DePaul.
