ACHA Hockey Sinks No. 15 Sault in Weekend Finale

OXFORD, Ohio – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA men's hockey team wrapped the weekend at the Miami Showcase against the 15^th-ranked Cougars of Sault on Sunday morning. The Falcons improved to 17-8-2 on the year with the 6-3 victory.

The Falcons started the Sunday scoring with a goal from senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) off assists from freshman Chuck Emme (Glenville, Ill.) and senior Rex Staudacher (Yorkville, Ill.).

Sherman struck again seven minutes later off assists from Chuck Emme and senior John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.).

Sault closed the first-period scoring on the power play.

Chuck Emme scored a short-handed goal off a pass from junior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.).

The Cougars cut the deficit in half with a short-handed goal to close the second-period scoring.

Senior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.) scored the game-winning goal on the power play, off assists from senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) and Rex Staudacher.

 CUW scored two goals in the final minute off the sticks of Rex Staudacher and Easton Williams.

Senior Ian Robertson (Calgary, Alberta) earned the victory in the net.

The Falcons will host the Cougars on Friday and Saturday inside the Ozaukee Ice Center.
