ACHA Hockey Obliterates Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA hockey team exploded offensively on Thursday night at Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Falcons picked up a 12-4 victory to improve to 5-2-1 on the year.

The Concordia offense scored five goals in the first period. Junior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) started the spree off an assist from junior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.).

CUW scored 33 seconds later off the stick of Cassel and assists from junior Nolan Judge (Glendale, Ariz.) and senior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.).

Five minutes later, senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) lit the lamp with Wilderman and Malcolmson adding the assists.

Senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) scored his first goal back as a Falcon on the power play with freshman Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) and Ian Malcolmson assisting.

Chuck Emme scored the last goal of the period off a senior Rex Staudacher (Yorkville, Ill.) assist.

The Blue and White added another five goals in the second period.

Trenton Sherman struck again to start the frame with assists to Kreuser and Emme.

Tommy Cassel netted his second goal of the evening three minutes later off a Wilderman assist.

Garrett Wilderman struck again in the second period on the power play where senior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.) and Ian Malcolmson added the assists.

After having four assists on the night, Ian Malcolmson scored with 5:24 left in the period with an assist credited to Chuck Emme.

Senior Nick Roberts (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored with 17 seconds left in the period.

The Titans needed to make a new section of the scoresheet when Tommy Cassel scored for a hat-trick performance in the third period.

Easton Williams scored a short-handed goal to finish the CUW scoring on Thursday.

Freshman Ryley Gross (Hazenmore, Sask.) had 25 saves in the victory.

The Falcons finished with 45 shots on goal.

The Blue and White look to bring out the brooms on Friday night in the weekend finale.
