The Falcons’ Journey Ends in the NACC Semifinals

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's volleyball season came to an end on Thursday night in the NACC Tournament Semifinals. The Green Knights won 26-24, 25-22, 25-20 to advance to the NACC Tournament Finals against Aurora.

The first set was tight from start to finish with neither team able to build a lead bigger than two points. A kill from senior Sophia Collins (Lake Mills, Wis.) gave the Falcons a 22-20 lead. The Green Knights closed the set on a 4-1 run to take the set at 26-24.

The Green Knights jumped out to an early lead in the second set at 6-2. The Falcons continued to fight and tied the set at 10 with a service ace from freshman Abby Proefrock (Grafton, Wis.). A kill from Sophia Collins gave CUW its first lead since 1-0 at 14-13. A kill from freshman Mickenzi Benter (Appleton, Wis.) gave CUW a 22-19 lead but a 6-0 run iced the Falcons.

St. Norbert built a big lead again in the third set and never looked back to take the match 3-0.

Sophia Collins led the Falcons with 10 kills.

Senior Erika Natzke (Morton Grove, Ill.) led the CUW attack with 20 assists.

Jenna Chaussee led the match with three service aces and 25 digs. She also was in on both of the CUW digs.

The Falcons finish the year at 19-8 on the season.
