Falcons Shine Over the Stars

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Falcons won their fourth-straight match on Friday night at Dominican. The Falcons picked up a 3-1 victory to improve to 12-6 and 6-0 in the NACC. The Falcons won on Friday with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-27, 25-16 victory.

The Falcons never trailed in the first set on Friday and pushed the lead up to 20-13 with the serve of senior Erika Natzke (Morton Grove, Ill.). The birds took the set 25-19.

The Blue and White jumped on Dominican early in the second set and never looked back. The Falcons closed the set with the last three points to win 25-16.

The Falcons had two match points in the third set after senior Jenna Chaussee (Chilton, Wis.) gave the Falcons a 24-23 lead, CUW had match point again at 25-24, but the Stars soared back to take the set 27-25.

The birds broke free in the fourth set at 8-8 with an 11-2 run. Sophomore Lauren Shroba (Bolingbrook, Ill.) had four kills in the run. CUW secured the victory with a 25-16 victory.

The dynamic duo of junior Maycee Karpfinger (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and Lauren Shroba led the match with 12 kills. Karpfinger hit a sensational 733 hitting percentage in the victory ad also led the team with four service aces and three blocks.

Senior Sierra Lee (Kenosha, Wis.) and Erika Natzke both shelled out 23 assists.

Jenna Chaussee dugs up 17 balls in the victory.

The Falcons now move to the showdown of NACC unbeaten teams at Aurora on Saturday.
