Women's Tennis continues NACC winning ways at MSOE

MILWAUKEE – The winning streak is now six matches in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play for Concordia University Wisconsin's Women's Tennis team after a 7-2 victory over MSOE on Tuesday afternoon.

The Falcons (6-0, 6-0 NACC) captured all three doubles matches to take a commanding lead and took No. 3-6 doubles for the win.

"We have a deep team which allows us to keep winning," head coach Steve Anschutz said. "As a team, we look to keep improving our leadership positions at No. 1 and 2 singles, and No. 1 doubles. We are becoming mentally tougher and looking to improve on our small weaknesses."

The doubles pairing of freshmen Kierra Kuehl (Random Lake, Wis.) and Hayley Paykel (Mequon, Wis.), along with Alisia Macioch (South St. Paul, Minn.) and Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) picked up an 8-2 victory, respectively.

Leading singles play was sophomore Ashley Knoll (Wilmot, Wis.) who defeated her No. 5 competitor 6-0, 6-1. Also winning quickly was sophomore Amanda Ropiak (Franklin, Wis.) and freshman Amanda Beierle (Franklin, Wis.) with 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-0 victories at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively.

CUW returns to the court on Saturday with a pair of league matches in Madison, Wis., against Edgewood College and Rockford University at 2 and 4:30 p.m.
