Carthage blanks Women's Soccer in non-conference match

KENOSHA, Wis. – Carthage College tallied three first half goals en route to a 5-0 shutout victory over Concordia University Wisconsin in a women's soccer non-conference match at Art Keller Field on Sunday.

The Lady Reds (3-0-0) had four different players score and earned a tally on an own goal early in the first half. CC outshot CUW 16-8, including 12-4 on goal, while other statistics were even.

It took just 5:05 for Kendall Craig to find Corinne Brenna for the opening score of the match. Less than 12 minutes later the Lady Reds built a 2-0 cushion after CUW (1-3-0) couldn't handle the ball and it went into its own goal.

Alexis Fahlbeck connected with Rachel Post for another CC score in the first frame to push the deficit to 3-0 against the Falcons. Fahlbeck and Shelby Hawley found the back of the net in the second half for insurance goals.

Abby Alm made three saves for CC in 69:30 of action before two other Lady Red goalkeepers saw time between the pipes.

CUW returns to the pitch on Wednesday for a home contest against North Park University at 4 p.m. on Fitting Field.
