Brehmer Scores Four Goals to Lead Women’s Soccer to NAC Victory

Box Score: AC 1, CUW 5

MEQUON, Wis. -- Hannah Brehmer had a career day on Saturday afternoon as she found the back of the net four times to lead the Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Alverno College in Northern Athletics Conference competition at Fitting Field.

Brehmer's (sophomore, Eagle River, Wis.) four goals came on four shots and it was the second time in her career that she tallied for scores in a contest. During a 13-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College on Oct. 27, 2009 she recorded four goals on five shots. It was also the sixth time a Falcon has recorded four goals in a match - all of them wins - five of which were NAC victories.

Junior Lauren Straehler (Pewaukee, Wis.) also helped the offensive attack with three assists and a goal. Sophomore Ashley Apazeller (Jackson, Wis.), junior Kelly Bolli (Eagle, Wis.), senior Kelly Sippel (Fond du Lac, Wis.), and senior Kelli Wittenberg (Sturtevant, Wis.) also recorded an assist during the win.

CUW (5-3-0, 5-0-0 NAC) used its powerful offense immediately as Brehmer found the back of the net 34 seconds into the match with Sippel and Straehler assisting on the goal.

Brehmer and Straehler found the twine to push the Falcons in front 3-0 after 12:37 of play.

Alverno's (2-9-0, 1-4-0 NAC) Nava Moniriarani tallied the Inferno's lone goal, unassisted, 35:05 into the match.

Brehmer scored twice more in the second half to push the Falcons advantage to four goals, 5-1.

CUW faces a difficult three-match NAC stretch starting on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m. at Fitting Field against MSOE. The Falcons then host Aurora University, Oct. 1, and Edgewood College, Oct. 4. All three opponents finished ahead of the Falcons in last year's standings.
