Softball Sweeps First NACC Weekly Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its Student-Athletes of the Week for Softball on Wednesday morning. Jasmine Freeze was voted as the NACC Pitcher of the Week and Jess Pozezinski was voted as the NACC Position Player of the Week by the league's athletics communications professionals.

A junior pitcher from Bolingbrook, Illinois, Jasmine Freeze is claiming the honor for the first time in her career.

Freeze started the weekend with a no-hitter performance in four innings with six strikeouts. She then had five strikeouts in a victory over Wisconsin-La Crosse.

A junior shortstop from Lake Villa, Illinois, Jess Pozezinski is claiming the honor for the first time this season and for the second time in her career.

Pozezinski had 10 hits in 15 at-bats in four games last weekend. She recorded at least one hit and one run scored in each game. Pozezinski had three hits, including a pair of home runs, with three RBIs and three runs scored in CUW's season-opening win over Lawrence. She also had a double and a run scored in the second game of the doubleheader. In game one against Wisconsin-La Crosse, she was 5-for-5 with a double, three RBIs, and a pair of runs scored. She also had a home run with two RBI in game two against the Eagles.

The Falcons return to action on Friday in Georgia.
