Men’s Track & Field Finishes Fifth at NACC Championships

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Falcons posted a valiant effort at the NACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday and finished in fifth place with 85 points

Junior Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) was the "Golden Boy" again on Saturday with a pair of first-place finished. Cain claimed the NACC crown in the discus throw at 40.95 meters. He also once again shattered his school record in the shot put at 15.75 meters.

Senior Preus Hasselbrook (Missoula, Mont.) took home the bronze medal in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.38.

Freshman Tim Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) was the bronze medalist in the 5000-meter run at 15:43.31. He also finished in sixth place in the 1500-meter run at 4:09.49.

The Falcons closed the book on the championships with a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday with the team of junior Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.), senior Emmett Williams (Hartford, Wis.), Preus Hasselbrook and senior Samual Spranger (Fond Du Lac, Wis.)

Sophomore Michael Brookshire (Valley Springs, Calif.) finished fourth in the decathlon with 3231 points. He also secured a seventh-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles at 24.79.

In the high jump, Samual Spranger finished in fifth place at 1.79 meters.

CUW started the day with a fifth-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay. The team of sophomore Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Springs, Colo.), freshman Ryley McCreary (Pleasant Praire, Wis.), freshman Austin Thur (Bloomer, Wis.) and freshman Nate Bloxdorf (Hartford, Wis.) finished at 46.39.

Christian Prohl clocked in at 52.39 in the 400-meter dash in seventh place.

Sophomore Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) earned two points for Concordia in seventh place in the shot put at 12.01 meters.

In the 800-meter run, William Ebel finished in ninth place at 2:06.94.

Austin Thur led the flock in the long jump in 10th place at 5.84 meters.

MSOE won the men's title for the first time since 2008 with 226 points.
