Men’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten at Aurora

AURORA, Ill. – The CUW men's soccer team remained undefeated after opening NACC play at Aurora on Wednesday night. The Falcons and Spartans finished with a 1-1 tie to open the NACC schedule. The tie sends CUW to 3-0-2 on the year and 0-0-1 in the NACC.

The Spartans struck first on Wednesday night with a goal in the 11th minute.

The Falcons added the equalizer in the 23rd minute when senior Alex Labastida (Chicago, Ill.) found an unmarked freshman Carson Kelly (Fond Du Lac, Wis.) and he threw the ball into the back of the net.

The CUW defense kept the Aurora attack off balance and only allowed eight shots on the frame.

The Falcons held Aurora to its second lowest shot on goal percentage of the year, with only No. 9 Calvin holding the Black and Blue lower.

Freshman Jeremy Munoz (Milwaukee, Wis.) had seven saves in the performance.

Senior Nick Hummel (Green Bay, Wis.) posted three shots on the Aurora net on the evening.

The Falcons continue NACC play at home on Saturday against the Eagles of Benedictine.
