MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's soccer team rallied late to remain undefeated in the young season. The Falcons moved to 2-0-1 on the season with the 1-1 tie.
The Cardinals peppered the CUW net with eight shots in the first half but could not crack the CUW defense.
The Red and White finally broke through in the 71st minute.
The Falcons did not fold and senior Ivan Cuellar (Milwaukee, Wis.) tipped in a rebound of a shot from senior Nick Hummel (Green Bay, Wis.) in the 79th minute.
The CUW defense kept the Cardinals off the scoresheet in the final 10 minutes.
Freshman Jeremy Munoz (Milwaukee, Wis.) posted three saves in the tie.
The Cardinals held a 17-9 advantage in shots on Wednesday.
Nick Hummel led the attack with four shots.
CUW will fight for the Octoberfest Cup on Saturday night against Carroll.
