Field Hockey Flexed in the Fall

MEQUON, Wis. - The Falcons finished the season with a 6-10 record, going 2-3 in conference. 

Senior Emily Binley posted 117 saves for a .755 save percentage.

Senior Lori Pitock led the team with four goals and five assists for a total of 13 points. 

CUW claimed two SAA Athlete of the Week honors with senior Lorri Pitock claiming the honor on Sept. 12 and Emily Binley on Oct. 17.

The Blue and White had four players named in the All-SAA Selections. Senior AnnaLyssia Abela was named to the All-SAA First Team, while seniors Emily Binley, Donna Pitock, and Lori Pitock were named to the All-SAA Second Team.

Claiming the honor for the first time, junior Renee Lund was named to the Fall All-Sportsmanship Team as the representative for the Falcons. The SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship, great character, and fair play among all competitors.

The team landed 10 SAA Honor Roll Selections this season with a semester cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. Earning the honors are senior AnnaLyssia Abela (Dearborn, Mich.), sophomore Paige Armijo (Reseda, Calif.), senior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.), freshman Katelyn Cardinale (Mt. Laurel, N.J.), junior Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.), junior Abby McGue (St. Louis, Mo.), senior Donna Pitock (Naperville, Ill.), senior Lorri Pitock (Naperville, Ill.), senior Olivia Riemer (Ballwin, Mo.) and junior Sophia Vandeloecht (St. Louis, Mo.).

The Falcons landed eight selections on the NFHCA National Academic Squad this year having a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year and were nominated by the NFHCA member coach. Senior Donna Pitock (Naperville, Ill.) is making her fourth appearance on the team. Making an appearance for the third time is senior AnnaLyssia Abela (Dearborn, Mich.), junior Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.), senior Olivia Riemer (Ballwin, Mo.) and junior Sophia Vandeloecht (St. Louis, Mo.). Sophomore Paige Armijo (Reseda, Calif.) and junior Abby McGue (St. Louis, Mo.) are making their second-straight appearance. Freshman Katelyn Cardinale (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) is making her first appearance on the NFHCA National Academic Squad.

The Falcons return to action in September.
