Emily Binley Named SAA Defensive Player of the Week

ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) announced its Player of the Week awards on Monday evening. The SAA announced that Emily Binley was voted as the SAA Defensive Player of the Week.

A senior from Suffolk, Virginia, Emily Binley is claiming the honor for the first time this season and the fourth time in her career.

She broke the school record with 258 minutes without giving up a goal.

On Saturday, she picked up her fourth shutout of the season with three saves at Transylvania.

At Wooster, Binley added 11 saves against the Scots in an overtime contest.

Sheela Vasan of Rhodes was voted as the SAA Offensive Player of the Week.

Binley and the birds are back in action on Thursday at DePauw.
