Field Hockey Secures Four All-SAA Selections

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Athletic Association announced its All-Conference teams and major award winners for the 2022 field hockey season. The Falcons landed four All-SAA honors, with AnnaLyssia Abela on the All-SAA First Team and Emily Binley, Donna Pitock and Lori Pitock on the All-SAA Second Team.

AnnaLyssia Abela

A senior defender from Dearborn, Michigan, AnnaLyssia Abela is making her second-straight appearance on an All-SAA Team. Abela leads the SAA with seven defensive saves. She also has three goals and one assist, with a game-winning goal at Sewanee.

Emily Binley

A senior goalie from Suffolk, Virginia, Emily Binley is appearing on her second-straight All-SAA Team. Binley ranks second in the SAA with a 0.760 save percentage and boasts a 2.446 goals-against average and 117 saves.

Donna Pitock

A senior forward from Naperville, Illinois, Donna Pitock is making her first appearance on an All-NACC Team. She finished the regular season with four goals and an assist. Pitock also scored the game-winning goal in the non-conference game at Sewanee.

Lorri Pitock

A senior midfielder from Naperville, Illinois, Lorri Pitock is claiming her third All-SAA accolade. Pitock led the Falcons with 13 points on four goals and five assists. She scored game-winning goals against Earlham and Virginia Wesleyan. Pitock also had a defensive save against Rhodes.

Sophie Croci of Rhodes was voted as the SAA Offensive Player of the Year with Erin Bozdech of Centre as the SA Defensive Player of the Year. Libby Bringard of Transylvania was the Goalkeeper of the Year and Allyson Nichols of Marian was the Newcomer of the Year. Rhodes and Marian were voted as the Co-Coaching Staff of the Year.
