Field Hockey Projected Third in the SAA Preseason Poll

ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association announced its 2022 field hockey preseason poll on Wednesday morning. The Falcons are projected to finish in third place.

The Falcons gathered 23 points in the poll.

Centre and Rhodes both received 33 points and three first-place votes. Centre claimed the regular-season title in 2021.

Sewanee was selected fourth at 18 points, Marian was fifth with 10 points and Transylvania was sixth with nine points.

Concordia finished in third place in the 2021 season with a 2-2 record in the SAA. The Blue and White advanced to the SAA Tournament Semifinals, where they fell to the eventual champion, Rhodes.

The Falcons open the season on Sept. 1 at home against Marian.

SAA play begins on Sept. 17 against Centre.
