NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Winning streak came to an end for the Falcons on Sunday morning at No. 16 Christopher Newport. The 9-1 loss sends the Falcons to 2-2 on the season.
The Captains struck early on Sunday with three goals in the first quarter.
Junior Abby McGue (St. Louis, Mo.) scored the lone CUW goal on Sunday when she deflected in a shot from senior AnnaLyssia Abela (Dearborn, Mich.) on a penalty corner.
The Blue and Silver finished the game on a 4-0 run.
Christopher Newport peppered the CUW net on Sunday and held a 48-4 advantage in shots.
Senior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) posted 22 saves on Sunday morning.
The Falcons open SAA play on Saturday at home against the Colonels of Centre.
