Evans, Gonzalez earn NACC weekly awards

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's running back LaCurt Evans and kicker David Gonzalez were named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Offensive and Special Teams Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Nov. 4-10, as selected by the league's athletic communicators.

Evans (Bloomingdale, Ill.) ran for a career-high 146 yards in CUW's 49-41 win over Aurora University on Saturday. The sophomore running back averaged 9.7 yards per carry and scored three times (also a career high), helping the Falcons (7-2, 5-0) clinch a share of the NACC title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.. Evans scored a career long 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Gonzalez (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) was a perfect 7-for-7 on extra point attempts, as he set the school record for extra points in a season with 49.

The conference weekly honor is the third of the season and of third of Gonzalez's career. The accolade is the first of Evans' career.
