Jones named D3football.com Second Team All-American

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia University Wisconsin junior guard Sean Jones has been named to the 2013 D3football.com preseason All-American Second Team, the website announced Tuesday.

Jones (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) earned the preseason recognition after an outstanding sophomore season that saw him start nine games. He was named All-Northern Athletics Conference First Team after helping anchor a Falcon offense that averaged 331.1 yards per game, 254.7 of those coming through the air.

Of the 10 offensive lineman selected for the first or second teams, Jones was one of just two juniors to earn the preseason accolade. The other was Spencer Clark of Wheaton College, a first team selection at center. Of the 22 players selected on offense for the first or second teams, just seven will be juniors in 2013.

Jones and the Falcons will look to improve upon their 7-3 2012 campaign by beginning the 2013 season hosting Augsburg College Sept. 7. Kickoff from Tomasini Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
