Women's Soccer Squishes Lakeland

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team closed the regular season with a 6-0 victory over Lakeland. The Falcons finish the regular season with a 14-3-2 record and a 9-2-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference mark.

The scoring started in the 11th minute when junior Sabrina Moore found the back of the net off a pass from senior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.).

The Falcons struck again right before halftime in the 43rd minute off the boot of Selena Esten on a senior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) assist.

The birds struck again, 34 seconds into the second half with a goal from Isabel Downs from senior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway).

In the 61st minute, Selena Esten scored her second goal of the afternoon with Isabel Downs adding her second assist of the day.

Three minutes later, Isabel Downs dropped her second goal in the match off a feed from Karoline Haugland.

The scoring ended in the 89th minute with a goal from senior Grace Wilshire (Pittsburgh, Pa.).

The Falcons held a 37-2 advantage in shots on Wednesday. Karoline Haugland led all players with 13 shots.

Sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) had one save in the shutout.

The Falcons will host the Eagles of Edgewood in the NACC Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday.
