MEQUON, Wis. – The 2022-23 athletic year was another successful one for the Concordia Wisconsin Athletic Department. The Falcons won and contended for conference championships in many sports and put together an impressive list of great achievements. As in years past, the Department of Athletic Communications tries to sort through all the great moments and give you, the fans, top stories from the past year.

The list of stories was compiled by the Department of Athletic Communications and, like all lists, is subject to debate. In the 2022-23 year, CUW set a school record with four athletes earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American Honors which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and field and in the classroom.

Women's soccer seniors Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.) and Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) were both voted to the CSC Academic All-American Second Team for the first time in their careers.

In the classroom, Lafferty boasted a 4.00 grade-point average in computer science, while Downs had a 3.95 grade-point average in her undergraduate studies and a 4.00 in graduate school.

Senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) of women's basketball claimed the honor in mid-March for the second time in her career. Hafemann posted a 4.00 grade-point average in her undergraduate and MBA Healthcare Administration programs, making her the only Division III selection to accomplish such a feat.

Hafemann posted impressive numbers during the 2022-23 season, finishing with 430 points, 146 rebounds, 93 assists, and 22 steals, earning her First Team All-Conference honors. She also reached the 30-point mark twice, helping the Falcons win over Benedictine and Lakeland.

Men's volleyball senior Andy Ellingham (Burlington, Wis.) was honored by the CSC on Jun. 25 as a CSC Men's At-Large Academic All-America Second Team member, making him the first player in program history to claim such an honor.

Ellingham boasted a 4.00 grade-point average in business and actuarial science.

Ellingham finished his season on the court with 78 kills, 64 blocks, 32 digs, and 23 service aces while hitting .369.
