Falcons Eat Up Eagles in Physical Matchup

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team faced off with the Edgewood Eagles within the confines of Fitting Field on Wednesday evening.

The Falcons netted the first goal of the matchup in the ninth minute off the foot of senior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) with an assist from fellow senior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.).

The Falcons netted a second goal off the foot of senior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway), but a late offsides call just before the ensuing kickoff negated the goal. 

Both sides had opportunities to either extend their lead or tie the game, but no more shots could find the back of the net.

The physical game saw three yellow cards including a yellow card to Haugland in the 30th minute.  There were 17 Total fouls in the matchup.

The Blue and White threw seven shots on goal with the Eagles only recording two shots on goal.

Sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) recorded her 10th shutout of the season with her two saves.

The Blue and White head to Concordia Chicago to take on the Cougars at 2:15 on Saturday.
