MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team started the season on the right foot with a 3-0 victory over Lawrence on Thursday afternoon.
Senior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) started the scoring in the 30th minute off a pass from senior Jordan Lafferty (Sunrise, Ariz.).
Junior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) connected off a long pass from Carmen Rowe to score in the 64th minute.
Moore struck again nine minutes later when she showed her speed as she ran past the defense.
Sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) collected her second career shutout. Her first was also against Lawrence. She finished with three saves.
The Falcons held a 15-6 advantage in shots. Selena Esten led the flock with seven shots.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday against Lake Forest.
