Stars Stop Women's Soccer

MEQUON, Wis. – Saturday saw the CUW women's soccer squad fall to the Star of Dominican University with a final score of 3-1 to push their record to 5-8-3 overall and 4-6-2 in conference action. 

The Stars opened the scoring in the 19th minute to take the 1-0 lead. 

Towards the back end of the first half, the Falcons scored the equalizer. In the 37th minute, senior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) found Shay Lange, who blasted a shot past the keeper for her third goal of the season to knot the match at one apiece.

Dominican University's offense picked up its production in the second half, scoring a goal just two minutes in to take the 2-1 lead. The Stars would find the back of the net in the 53rd minute to secure the 3-1 victory. 

In the defeat, Sabrina Moore led the flock with two shots on goal, while on the defensive end, junior Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) recorded 12 saves. 

CUW women's soccer will resume action on Tuesday, Oct. 24th, when they take on nonconference opponent UW-Oshkosh at Fitting Field, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
