Falcons Soar Past Eagles

MEQUON,  Wis. – For their second game of conference play, the Falcons soared to a 2-0 victory over the Eagles this Saturday afternoon. The Blue and White improved their record to 5-1-1 overall and a winning record of 2-0-0 in the NACC.

The MVP of the day was senior Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.) scoring both goals for the Falcons. At the 33:50 mark,  Lafferty struck a blast from outside of the 18-yard box to the right corner of the net for the first goal for the Falcons.

The CUW defense shined on the field once again. The Blue and White held the Eagles to only nine shots with five shots on goal. Giving Sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium Wis.) five saves for the match.

In the second half, Lafferty struck again with a goal from a given free kick from the Eagles at 83:19. Lafferty crushed the ball into the net kicking from right outside the box. Lafferty took two shots of the day leading her with two unassisted goals.

The CUW offense had a total of 21 shots, with nine being shots on goals. Senior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) led the Blue and White in shots with seven.

The CUW Falcons will hit the road facing Wisconsin Lutheran this coming Wednesday.
