Falcons Feast at Concordia Chicago

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Falcons carved up the Cougars in the NACC opener on Tuesday night. They picked up a 67-50 victory to improve to 2-2 on the young season.

The Falcons broke away from the Cougars in the first quarter. With the game tied at nine, CUW closed the quarter on a 9-1 run.

The Blue and White kept their foot on the accelerator in the second quarter and pushed the lead up to 37-21 at halftime.

CUW held the Cougars to one field goal in the third quarter. The biggest lead of the night came at 23 points on multiple occasions.

Junior Lindsey Smitsdorff (Coon Rapids, Minn.) cooked the Cougars with a career-high 21 rebounds, 11 points and six blocks. The 21 rebounds are the second-most in program history.

Senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) led the flock with 15 points. Freshman Abigail Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) added 10 points from the bench.

Junior Kathryn Kirkwood (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored 11 points in her first game as a Falcon.

The Falcons return to play on Tuesday against Wisconsin Lutheran.
