Men's Hockey volunteers at Angel on my Shoulder camps

Members of the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team, along with head coach Jasen Wise, volunteered at Angel on my Shoulder camps this summer, helping continue the partnership the hockey program has started with the organization.

Angel on my Shoulder is an organization that helps the well being of those affected by cancer through the empowerment of individuals, enhancement of quality of life and perpetuation of a vision of limitless possibilities. It is a unique organization in that it provides assistance for the patient AND those family members surrounding the patient.

"It was a wonderful experience to volunteer at the Angel on my Shoulder camps this summer," said head coach Jasen Wise. "We value our partnership with Angel on my Shoulder and we looking forward to continuing that partnership for many seasons."

The Falcons began their partnership with Angel on my Shoulder last season in hosting a pink the rink day for both the Men's and Women's Hockey program. Last year's event was a big success and one CUW will look to continue in the future.

This summer senior Buster Hebda (Firestone, Colo.) along with juniors Jake Hebda (Firestone, Colo.) and Andrew Sprouse (Cary, Ill.) attended Camp Angel, working with kids 7-12 who have a family member suffering from cancer.

Following that, head coach Jasen Wise, along with senior Lawrence Childs (Silver Springs, Md.) attended Camp Teen Angel, working with teens who have family members who are suffering from cancer.

The Falcons will continue their in season partnership with Angel on my Shoulder on December 5 during a doubleheader for the Men's and Women's programs. The women's team will host St. Norbert at 3 p.m. with the men following against Aurora at 7 p.m.
