Carthage Tops Women's Tennis
KENOSHA, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis team completed the regular season on Sunday afternoon at Carthage. The Firebirds took a 6-3 victory to send the Falcons to 10-13 on the year.
The Falcons took an early lead on Sunday with two victories in doubles play.
Sophomore Jordana Burkeland (Oregon, Wis.) and senior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) ripped the Firebirds on court three, 8-2.
Sophomore Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) and senior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) picked up an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Mallory Moen picked up the lone singles point on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Luana Da Silva at No. 3 singles.
The Falcons will return to action on May 5 in the NACC Tournament Semifinals at home against the highest remaining seed.
