Women’s Tennis Sweeps St. Norbert
DE PERE, Wis. – The Falcons were unkind to the newest members of the NACC on Saturday afternoon, as CUW welcomed St. Norbert to the NACC with a 9-0 victory. The Falcons improve to 6-0 on the year and 5-0 in NACC play.
Senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and freshman Cheyanne Phillips (Morris, Ill.) secured an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.
The team of senior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) and sophomore Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) also picked up an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Senior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and sophomore Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) secured an 8-3 victory to pull off the sweep of doubles at No. 1 doubles.
Elizabeth Johnson made quick work of Paige Diercks at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Ashley Samuta cleaned up court two with Nicole Pfotenhauer with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Mallory Moen pounced on Megan Pankow with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles.
Mia Andrae overwhelmed Grace McCune at No. 5 singles, with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Ricki Budewitz canned Hannah Keller at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
Cheyanne Phillips shined on court three in a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Hannah Starr.
The Falcons host Illinois Tech in a battle of unbeaten NACC teams in what has historically played a key role in the NACC standings.
