CUW Mops up Marian and the Muskies

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis team kept their record unblemished on Saturday as they improved to 5-0 on the year and to 4-0 in the NACC with a 7-2 victory over Marian and a 9-0 victory over Lakeland.

The Falcons started the day with two free points from the Sabres at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Senior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) and sophomore Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) picked up an 8-2 victory on court one.

Sophomore Auden Pearson (Kaukauna, Wis.) and freshman Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis.) clocked Julia Loomas to the tune of a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles.

Mya Werning picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Katrina Pokorny at No. 4 singles.

Freshman Karen Frerking (Fort Wayne, Ind.) flipped Aubree Helstad at No. 3 singles with a 4-6, 6-1 10-6 victory on court three to finish the Sabres.

The Falcons hooked the Muskies on all nine courts to close the day.

Mallory Moen and Elizabeth Johnson swept the fish away at No. 1 doubles, as did Peyton Morgan and Karen Frerking at No. 3 doubles.

Doubles proved to give CUW no troubles with an 8-2 victory for Auden Pearson and Mya Werning on court two.

Elizabeth Johnson jammed Sadie Conway at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Maya Kunze captured Morgan Erbstoesser at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Auden Pearson pounced on Kallie Hoeft with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.

At No. 5 singles, Mya Werning walked over Bobainah Cha with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Mallory Moen mopped up court one with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Baylee Babcock.

Karen Frerking fried the final fish on court four with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Jessica Leicht.

The Falcons will travel north on Saturday to face off against St. Norbert.
