
Women's Tennis wins seventh straight NACC match
WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin remained unbeaten in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with an 8-1 decision over Wisconsin Lutheran College at Hart Park on Wednesday evening.
The Falcons won all three doubles points and five of the six possible singles matches to stay atop the NACC standings. The victory clinched a spot in the NACC Tournament, which is scheduled to start on April 28.
CUW (7-1, 7-0 NACC) hasn't lost since its season-opening non-conference match at Carroll University. They have three remaining NACC matches on the schedule, including a fall season home finale against perennial powerhouse Edgewood College on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Falcons No. 3 doubles pairing of senior Emily McCormick (Waukesha, Wis.) and sophomore Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) blanked their opponents 8-0 to sway the momentum in their favor.
CUW won its No. 1-5 singles matches, which included a 6-1, 6-1 victory by sophomore Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.) at No. 2 singles. Freshman Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) and sophomore Jessica Sapp (Memphis, Mich.) won 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively.
CUW hosts MSOE and Marian University on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on its campus tennis courts.
