Women's Tennis controls Lakeland in NACC victory

KOHLER, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin earned a 9-0 shutout victory over Lakeland College on Saturday afternoon during Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. The Falcons stay undefeated in conference play, allowed just one point during doubles play and eight points during singles play.

CUW (3-1, 3-0 NACC) earned a pair of 8-0 shutout wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Freshmen Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) and Anna Shanks (Kingsford, Mich.), along with senior Emily McCormick (Waukesha, Wis.) and sophomore Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) impressed in the early going.

Sophomore Jessica Sapp (Memphis, Mich.) blanked her No. 5 singles opponent 6-0, 6-0 to win her fourth-consecutive singles match, while McCormick picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles for her third-straight win. Freshman Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) blanked her No. 4 singles opponent in the first set before eventually winning 6-0, 6-2.

CUW will continue NACC play on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. road match at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
