FREELAND AND SCHIEFFER POST MATCH INTERVIEW

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons got going in the 10th minute with the first career collegiate goal by freshman Shannon Carroll (Mundelein, Ill.). Carroll took a cross from sophomore Nicole Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) to score the header goal, putting the Falcons on top by one.

- Schieffer (Belgium, Wis.) would tally her second score of the season in nearly three minutes later off a great touch from freshman Brooke Keller (Belgium, Wis.). Schieffer scored her second goal of the match in the second half, off an assist by senior Faith Palmreuter (Frankenmuth, Mich.).

- Ciesielcyzk played a part in each of the Falcons third and fourth goals. She assisted a header by Breanne Thomas (Oconomowoc, Wis.) by placing another perfect cross. Ciesielczyk would then tally her second goal of the season, scoring off a cross from senior Abigail Freeland (Grafton, Wis.). The four points were a career-best for Ciesielczyk.

- Bianco (Iron Mountain, Mich.) tallied her first career two-goal contest, beginning with a score in the 34th minute, putting the Falcons up 5-0. She has nine points in three career matches against Alverno and added her second score in the 59th minute.

- Sophomore Mikayla Ross (Oshkosh, Wis.) scored the Falcons eighth score of the match and assisted on the ninth, which was the first of two scores by Van Oursouw. Van Oursouw (Neenah, Wis.) netted her first two career goals in just her second career match, one coming in the 79th minute and the other in the 88th.

- Alverno scored late in the first half, the seventh goal of the season by Annie Davison. Erin Rothwell assisted on the play.

- Senior Ariana Worthing (Saginaw, Mich.) and junior Tabitha Ortiz (Plainfield, Ill.) split time at goalkeeper for the Falcons. Worthing started and got the win, while Ortiz played a scoreless second half. The Falcons outshot Alverno 32-4. The Inferno received an 11-save performance from Allison Weick.
