Press Pass: Women's Soccer looks to continue success over Alverno

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Soccer team will look to get on the right track with a Tuesday NACC match against Alverno. The Falcons have dominated the series against the Inferno during the Ryan Middendorf era (2003-present) and are in need of a strong performance Tuesday.

PRESS PASS
-The Falcons tough-luck season continued their last time out as CUW suffered its ninth one-goal defeat of 2016. It was NACC-leading Edgewood who handed the Falcons the setback, this time, a 1-0 decision.

-Tuesday could be a match in which the Falcons get their offense going. CUW has averaged 8.3 goals per contest against the Inferno in 14 meetings dating back to 2003. Last season the Falcons posted an 11-0 victory over the Inferno, and have won every one of the 14 meetings by at least four goals. They have outscored Alverno 116-1 since 2003.

-Midway through the NACC portion of its schedule and the Falcons sit in seventh in conference standings. The top six teams qualify for the NACC Tournament, but CUW plays three of its final five against teams in the bottom half of the league standings. CUW will likely need a 4-1-0 league finish to position themselves for a NACC Tournament berth.
