Women's Hockey Trio Honored by the NCHA

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its all-conference and all-freshmen teams on Monday night. The Falcons landed Makayla Spejcher to the All-Conference Team and Mackaylan McGown and Ella Tuccitto to the All-Freshman Team.

A sophomore from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Makayla Spejcher is making her second-straight NCHA All-Conference Team. Spejcher secured 12 goals and 12 assists to lead the flock in goals, assists and points. She finished her sophomore campaign with two game-winning goals at Dubuque and one against Marian. Spejcher finished the season with eight multi-point performances, including three points at Wisconsin-Stevens Point and two goals in the NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals to help force a mini game.

This is the 16th time in program history that a Falcon has claimed NCHA All-Conference honors. This is the second-straight year that a Falcon has claimed the honor in back-to-back years, joining Emily Reimche. She also joins Lexi Holman, Emily Heckendorf, Emily Reimche, Sarah Luberda and Sam Meuwissen as Falcons to earn multiple all-conference honors.

Mackaylan McGown and Ella Tuccitto are the 10th and 11th Falcons to be named to the NCHA All-Freshman Team.

Mackaylan McGown

A freshman forward from Inver Grove, Minnesota, Mackaylan McGown is claiming her first NCHA honor. The Minnesota native finished the year with nine goals and 10 assists. She had a season-high two goals at Wisconsin-Stevens Point and scored the game-winning goal at Trine.

Ella Tuccitto

A freshman forward from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Ella Tuccitto is making her first appearance on an NCHA team. Tuccitto tore up the NCHA with 10 goals and seven assists on the season. She posted two game-winning goals over Lawrence and finished with two three-point performances against No. 9 Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Lawrence.

This is the second time in program history that CUW has landed multiple selections onto the NCHA All-Freshman Team. The other is the 2015-16 season with Ellie Woodman and Christina Pattengale.
