Women's Hockey Falls to Lake Forest

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team fell in their series opener against the Foresters of Lake Forest College on Friday, Nov. 10th, with a final score of 4-0. With the loss, the Falcons record now sits at 1-4-0 on the year and 1-2-0 in conference play.

Lake Forest College took the 1-0 lead just 56 seconds into the game and enjoyed a 1-0 lead after the first period.

The second period saw the Foresters extend their lead as Lake Forest College found the back of the net three times to take the 4-0 lead heading into the second intermission.

In the third and final period of play, neither team was able to score a goal, despite both teams having power play opportunities, leaving the score at 4-0 in favor of the Foresters.

In the loss, the junior Brooke Gibson (La Salle, Ont.) took a team-high ten shots and won 19 of 26 faceoffs. Senior Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) and junior Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) both had 12 saves.

The CUW women's hockey team will look to get their revenge tomorrow, Nov. 11th, when they travel to Lake Forest for part two of their weekend series, with puck drop slated for 7:30 p.m.
