Annalina Van Hercke Claims NCHA Weekly Honor

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its Three Stars of the Week on Tuesday morning. Annalina Van Hercke was voted as one of the Three Stars of the Week for Women's Hockey.

A senior from Castle Rock, Colorado, Annalina Van Hercke is claiming the honor for the first time this season and is claiming an NCHA weekly honor for the third time in her career.

On Saturday, Van Hercke broke the program record with her 10th career shutout with 23 saves in the 2-0 victory.

She followed that up with 12 saves during Sunday's victory at Dubuque.

Van Hercke is the second Falcon to claim the honor this season. Junior Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ont.) also claimed the honor on November 21.

The Colorado native was joined by Chelsea Denniss of Lake Forest and Morgan Olson of St. Norbert as the other stars.

Denniss blanked Marian with a pair of shutout victories this past weekend. She accumulated 44 saves. The St. Thomas, Ontario native began the weekend with 20 saves during a 2-0 victory on Friday. Denniss then posted 24 saves during a 1-0 decision over the Sabres on Saturday.

Olson amassed four points (1G, 3A) to help St. Norbert go 1-0-1 against Aurora this past weekend. She began the weekend with three points. The Roselle, Illinois native assisted on Saturday's tie. She played hero with the deciding shootout goal in the final round.

Van Hercke and the Falcons return to action on Friday against St. Norbert.
