
Women's Hockey Hosted Their First Ever Home Playoff Game
MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team posts strong conference season resulting in the first-ever home NCHA Slaats Cup competition for the Falcons.
In their first-ever home playoff game, the Falcons came out with force putting up a 5-1 victory. In this game, junior captain Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) and junior Kaitlyn Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis.) both tallied three assists with Johnson having one of the five goals for the Falcons.
In her 59:55 minutes on the ice, goalie Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) posted 21 saves in 22 shots registering a .955 save percentage in her first-ever playoff start.
On the season, senior Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) and Emily Reimche led the team with 23 total points. Reimche led the Falcons in assists with 15 as well as eight goals while Hull netted 15 goals with eight assists.
In goal for the Falcons, senior Shea Petersen (Rhinelander, Wis.) played four games and won all four tallying 69 saves and a save percentage of .972. Sophomore Annalina Van Hercke played 12 games and put up 290 saves with a save percentage of .890.
The Falcons also snagged some All-NCHA selections. Ally Hull and Sarah Tretina (Plainfield, Ill.) added All-Conference honors to their resume for the first time in their careers. Hull made the team as a forward while Tretina made it on the defensive side.
The Falcons are pumped to lace the skates back up in the 2021-22 season.
