DULUTH, Minn. – The Saints took game one of the NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals on Friday night by a score of 5-0. The loss sends CUW to 10-8-0 and keeps St. Scholastica undefeated at 13-0-0.
The Saints took the lead with a goal in the first and second periods.
St. Scholastica put the game out of reach with three third-period goals.
The home team held a 36-20 shots advantage on Friday night.
Junior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.), senior Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) and senior Avrielle Schneider (Gilbert, Minn.) all had three shots.
Sophomore Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) finished the game with 31 saves.
The Falcons need to win game two to force a mini game on Saturday evening to keep the season alive.
