Shea Petersen earns NCHA Defensive Player of the Week title
MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association named Shea Petersen its Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.
A senior from Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Shea Petersen is claiming the honor for the first time in her career.
On Friday night, she had her first collegiate start in net against Marian. She recorded 21 saves and did not allow a goal to record her first career shutout.
This is the second-straight week where CUW has claimed the honor. Sophomore Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) claimed the title after her first career shutout.
Petersen and the Falcons return to the ice on Friday against St. Scholastica.
