Falcon hockey women get a weekend split
Lake Forest, IL
What a difference a day makes! One day after falling 4-0 to the
same opponent at home, the Falcon skaters rebounded with an
impressive 6-2 road win. "This was a really good win for us- to
beat the defending champions on their ice is exciting."
Alisha Java was the catalyst with "the first hat trick in Concordia
history", including the first two CUW tallies after the Falcons had
fallen behind 1-0. "Our defense set up the opportunities and our
offensive players wanted it today. They worked hard and crashed
the nets."
Sarah Luberda, April Forar, and Stephanie Boehm also scored for Jim
Ingman's team which improved to 10-8-1 and 8-5-1 in the NCHA.
Lake Forest is 9-5-2 but only 5-5-2 in league play after this
crucial weekend series. "Home ice is big in the playoffs and this
series helped set us up for that," praised Ingman.
The Falcons outshot the hosts 33-30 with Lea Jondal making 28
saves.
