#6 UW- River Falls Women skate past Falcons 6-2
Ozaukee Ice Center
Concordia (1-4-0) started fast, getting the game's first score at
2:26 of the first period on Samantha Meuwissen's tally, but
eventually UW- River Fall's depth prevailed in a 6-2 decision at
the Ozaukee Ice Center Friday night.
It was 1-1 by the end of the first period as Brook Story countered
for the visitors just one minute after the CUW goal. Jim Ingman's
team carried the play throughout that first period but UW-RF's
Melissa Deardorff turned all other Falcon shots away.
The second session was fairly even in terms of shots on goal but
UW- River Falls scored three times against Falcon net-minder Katie
Hirsch to take an insurmountable 4-1 lead.
Sarah Luberda got the second Concordia goal to open the third
session but the Nationally Ranked guests (2-0-0) added a pair of
late lamp lighters to win going away.
